a faith-ful God

a fresh start.

a clean slate.

it may not be obvious but that is what is given to us every second, every moment. a fresh start. a clean slate.

think about it. when was the last time you committed a blunder you felt your world was about to end? when was the last time you made a mistake, you felt that you would never recover?

did the world come crashing down on that very instant? did the walls come tumbling down? did the ground shake and open its cracks to swallow us whole, did the churning sea send out a devastating wave to drown us or the mighty heavens roar in righteous anger?

NOPE.

even during moments when we feel lost and alone, such feelings will soon pass. when we compose ourselves and allow our emotions to settle down, we realize, there is something bigger than our mistake. there is someone bigger than our problem. there is someone more overwhelming than our tragedy.

OURSELVES.

we are bigger than any mistake. we are greater than any problem. we are more overwhelming than any tragedy.

whatever may happen, we will endure.

so what if you got a failing grade during the midterm? so what if you are already the frontrunner for Mr. & Ms. Tardiness for the third term? so what if you haven’t even seen our blog? so what if you've been wasting the past 15+ years of your life?

that was THEN.

NOW is um… well, for lack of a better term, NOW.

now, you are given the chance. in fact it’s more than a chance, it’s an opportunity. hey, let’s go even further. it’s not only an opportunity, it’s a GIFT.

why? nature never gives you second chances. in a jungle world, survival of the fittest is the only law. eat or be eaten. kill or be killed. no if’s, no but’s. no “sir kasi, traffic” no “sir, i wasn’t able to wake up.”

having a second chance is not a right but a GIFT. if it is a gift, it comes from someone special. as with all gifts, it comes from someone who believes in you, probably more than you believe in yourselves.

thankfully, we have a God who believes in us, infinitely more than we believe in Him.

oh, im the first here..yey. Me not replying to most of the blogs was THEN. now that i left a comment after a long long time, is NOW. hehe ok. :P yes second chances are a gift and we must also learn to appreciate it with patience as well. There are times they are right in front of us but we don't really see it, sometimes some of us are afraid to take it. everyone gets hurt but we can still stand because god is there within us. he may not always be there but we know for sure he's listening. most of my friends say that endings always lead to another beginning. These things happen for a reason. Take care and god bless.

hi sir! yeah i know it's my first time to post a comment :) i agree that having a second chance is not a right but a gift given by God. evryone has their own journey in life, evreyday we face and encounter different situations. it could be good and it could be bad. whatever happens we should learn to face it. whether we fail or not we should learn to uderstand that it will pass. it's like a lesson for us. it's better to feel and encounter failures so that in the future we'll be aware. God has blessed me with so many things. and my baby is a blessing by God. at first, it was really hard to face it..i didnt expect that everything will be okay. i was so scared and didnt know what to do. but God is good. by beleiving in God he has helped me conquer all my fears, trials in life :)

people have many struggles in life, there's up and down. but when you believe in yourself that you can be happy after all the trials that you've had. you always have a second chance to live a joyful life and its your choice to improve it and learn from your past experiences. every people have the rights to grab that second chance because its a gift from god, it shows that god is always there by your side even if you had so many problems in life that you think you cant handle it anymore..remember there's always a second chance to improve that and learned from it!

Second chances are rare... some people don’t even get a chance to have a second chance right?. So when we’re lucky to have it, we must truly make the MOST out of it in every way possible as to not have an even more painful regret that we’ve wasted ONE MORE chance given to us. We’ll never know really, maybe that wasted chance could be our... LAST.

I guess right now all of us are given that chance, that GIFT. It just depends on OURSELVES whether we’d grab it and change for the better or still continue being that person from our past. A clean slate, a fresh start... NOW is that time.

I always say to may self that hurt or pain will always leave a big scar to my heart no matter how long or fast it would heal it will still be there. I will always remember what happened. second chances? yeah i do believe that each and everyone of us deserve second chances but sometimes people are getting tired of giving other people who doesn't even deserve those second chances at all. like me im always afraid to take chances for the same people reason is that i don't want to get hurt again...but then i don't want to waste anymore chances for people that will come my way only few time we can spent to those we love and if we don't use them well we may regret that god give use chances and yet we fail to use them.

What's so scary about life is that everyday, we make decisions that we're not 100% sure of. Since there's no way of knowing, we'd go do it anyway and hope for the best.

There is no such thing as "practice life" nor do we have the technology to have dream lives that when everything goes bad we'd ask for tech support to help us wake up and fix things and we'd do it all over again; just like tom cruise in vanilla sky.

However, in life it is comforting to know that there is "a second chance", or that there is someone bigger than all the decisions we make or the intense pain and tragedies we encounter. We may not be able to turn back time, but we always have the opportunity to learn, change, move on and live better lives.

indeed, every "chance" we get in life is a gift from God. i also believe that faith is required to allow this gift to come in. it is through a relationship with God that i get the courage to see that life offers a multitude of possibilties. Without Him, life as it is would truly be unbearable.

i do agree that second chance is a gift... and i thank god for giving me chances... i guess he gives us this because he wants us to learn from it and cherish that given opportunity. i have been through many bad things as well but then he gave me a chance and i see myself now as a better person from what i was before..and i believe that i will still grow. God has given us a gift that will change our lives and i believe that change will make us realize what is right and what is wrong.-jowie fugoso

everyone deserves a second chance because this is the time where can you redeem yourself. you must learn from your mistakes and reflect whant went wrong....

some people take this for granted because they think that they cannot do it. ther is no chance. i learned from our past competition being pesimistic is really wrong becuse you cannot enjoy what you are doing. i also learn that every event or chance is a learning experience, loosing in a competition or performing infront of so many people is nothing to be ashamed of. atleast you try your best and you had the chance.

some waves will give you a feeling of being high, expirience. but some, some you will see from afar, breaking fast that you know you dont have the tools, the knowldege. it has arrived at the back of you shoulders and bailing out is no longer an option, no time to paddle. it jacks up on you and eat you. it will keep you inside of the impact zone for as long as it takes until all the white waters and backwash has passed, the reefcuts and the wipeouts.

it aint over till its over- kravits

life isn't perfect. nobody's perfect. making mistakes is normal. having said that, i believe it's better not to view mistakes as a source of misery. don't let mistakes and struggles bring you down. instead, view mistakes as challenges - challenges that make you a better and wiser person. LEARN from your mistakes.

to be given a second chance to amend our mistakes and our life is a gift. hence, make the most out of it. =)

let us believe to live hundred years and then we should beat water three thousand li. let us smile while facing difficulty, let us challenge life with confidence. although we may not win with confidence, we must lose without confidence, believe urself~~~--yayou

everyone can say that they have committed mistakes at least once in their lives...we are all not perfect, we have our weaknesses, we have our flaws and there are times when we've experienced a mental lapse in judgment. and yes, some of those mistakes can seem like it's the end of the world, that whatever we do can't make it right or we can never, ever show our faces in public again, but guess what? the human spirit and God's unending grace helps us get through the toughest of times, ultimately giving us the gift of a second chance. it may be hard when we are in certain situations that we just want to give up but God is there for us, always and forever. He loves us unconditionally...no judgments, no questions asked, no requirements, He loves us for who we are, for what we are and what we've been through. that's why it is also important for us to ask for forgiveness and readily give it as well...why harbor anger, hurt and pain when we can have true peace within our hearts? imagine if God sent down a thunderbolt upon us everytime we've sinned or committed a mistake, we'd be dead a hundred times over...so one thing to reflect on is this: if God has given us a thousand second chances in our lives, why can't we do the same? we just have to open our hearts and say to those who have done wrong against us, "yes, i forgive you..."

Sometimes you just have to look beyond "you" and divert your attention to other things. If you clear your head and reevaluate things, you're sure to find out that there IS something bigger than the problem. A problem is a passing thing. Actually, is it really a problem in the first place?

I believe though, that if one doesn't stop at just internalizing the problem or wallowing in self-pity, then there's always a second chance. :)

i also believe that the second chance is a gift rather than a right. but for me everything that happend to us, whether its good or bad,He has given us that gift. we may not see that way, but i believe in it.it really is upto us whether or not we accept that GIFT. sometimes we are blinded by the pain that we sometimes do not see that there's hope for us to move on, to take the better path or direction. for me, the only reason why i try to take things lightly is because i open my mind and heart that things happen for a reason, that He gave us this trials for us to be stronger, a better person. that no matter how terrible the things that happend in the past and in the present, there's always something much much better in the future. and that family and friends are some of god's instruments aside from angels, who will help you see a better persective. they are even sometimes God's GIFT to you.

i agree that second chances is a gift but only through our mistakes that we learn to share this gift to other people. We must give people second chance for they could still build up a new life and put meaning on it. Sometimes we are too selfish not giving other people a chance don't we realize that are we deserve to be given this chance.

Hi Sir, i like this article, it gives me a deep reflection about my past and the mistakes that i have commited. it sounds true that we are always given a second chance by God, but in reality, there are many things that you don't get a second chance anymore:-(For example, a word can hurt a lot. If i said something un-intended that hurt my friend or those who care about me, i hurt them na even if i appoligized, yes, we could be friends still, but you think the friendship will retain as it was like before?Or if a person fail to performe well in, say an admission test of his ideal college, isn't it that it will change his whole life in the future?
well i believe so. There are many things in life that we can not rewind or go back anymore, ya, we still have the next chance, but it will not be "that one" anymore. What we should do is forget about regreting, and move on.Maybe with pain, or carrying the consequences.
How i wish we are just like a blank paper just like kids, but, we can not erase those anymore from our mind and soul. Just like if a person has criminal record and prisoned, even if he get out of the jail, his history will still be with him in the rest of his life.It is like a burden to carry on the back that you can not throw them away.Actually, i am a optimistic person, but i'm just stating a fact that we are responsible for what we did in the past, and remember them and get lessons from them, because those are the precautions for the future of what we should do and should not do. we can not say"Tao lang tayo". that is the worst excuse for me.We should remember of what we do today, there is always a consequence for us to carry on in the future, therefore, we should think twice before doing things and do that without regrets if you are determined to do.

I personally believe in second chances our life journey isn’t always a straight path. It is filled with a lot of trials and hardships that we have to go across – to go to the place we are in right now. Can you imagine if we started out making mistakes during our childhood stage and we just stopped growing because we think we don’t have a chance to do better. Then we will all be a bunch of losers hanging out and doing nothing to grow out of that kind of mentality.

But in our lifetime, we have been given a lot of new beginning by GOD to do better and to know and follow HIM. However, we are still sinning against HIM, maybe this is are time to really take our new beginning seriously and asked HIM to guide us to do well in our journey called LIFE…
